Bishops Cleeve

There are lots of places to live around the UK with interesting names. Bishop Auckland, for instance started out as Bishop's Oakland referring to the hunting grounds and oak forests in the area. People looking to move could do worse than looking for a house for sale in Bishops Cleeve, in the Borough of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. Bishops Cleeve is another interestingly named location at the foot of Cleeve Hill in the Cotswolds. The word cleeve meaning cliff in modern English or "aet Clife" in the "Saxon Chartulary", from 769.
